Clinical Skills:

It is difficult to pen down complete details of the clinical skills, a few key skills are mentioned below.

 

  1. Diagnosis and management of wide variety of pediatric eye diseases and ocular motility diseases in children and adults.
  2. Very experienced and expeditious strabismus surgeon especially in the management of complex strabismus, reops, post injury strabismus, nystagmus and transpositions using fornix incisions and adjustable suture technique in every case.
  3. Well experienced in performing surgeries for infantile cataracts, infantile glaucoma (trabeculotomies, trabeculenctomy goniotomies, laser TSCPC etc), ptosis surgery (frontalis sling, lps resections and fasanella servat procedure), nasolacrimal duct obstruction (endoscopic, probing, silastic intubations and external DCR), management of ectopia lentis (foldable scleral fixated IOLs), enucleations and implants, LASERs for ROP, Coloboma etc..
  4. Can manage to see a large number of patients in a day in the hospital based set up as well as in a community based set up.
  5. Well versed with hospital based surgical camps where high volume, high quality surgical care can be delivered in a cost effective manner to large population.
  6. Used to seeing and administering the pediatric low vision care in the special schools as well as in the hospital based set up.
